May 28th, On the Processes of Unmasking

A panel of South Africa’s most eminent actors and directors, along with practicing psychoanalysts, will discuss the processes by which one moves out of, or lays aside, a role, mask or persona. Although focused on theatrical issues, the processes to be explored have relevance for the multitude of situations in which we have a ‘mask’ or persona that has to be, or one wishes to be, relinquished.

Three or four additional conversations are planned on the following topics…

Death and Deathfulness in Psychoanalysis with Professor Jerry Piven

On the Genesis of Gender with Dr Avgi Saketopoulo

Embodied Spirituality and Psychoanalysis with Dr Philip Lance

Conversations are on the last Thursday of the month from 7 to 9 pm South African time (adjustments to Vienna, London, New York and Vancouver times will be given prior to each Conversation). Finalized topics and dates for May to November will be announced soon.

To register for the entire series of Conversations, please make payment to:

Rand 400 for African and Asian residents
