This 6-hour workshop offers participants an intense learning experience in what is commonly called “technique” both of psychoanalytic therapy and of psychoanalysis as such. It is intended for clinicians who have had some personal experience of psychoanalysis or intensive psychoanalytic therapy. Participants earn 6 hours of continuing education points, with 4 of them for ethics. The schedule for the remainder of 2026 is as follows:

- October 24th, Cape Town
Fee: R2,500 (with a reduced fee for registered students, psychoanalytic trainees, and anyone who has attended a previous workshop with Dr Barratt is R1,800)

About the Facilitator: Dr Barnaby B Barratt is an internationally eminent psychoanalyst, recognized as a Training and Supervising Analyst by the International Psychoanalytic Association since 2006. He is author of six books on psychoanalytic methods and psychoanalytic philosophy (all are available from Routledge); most recently, the highly acclaimed Free Association, which was released this winter.
